Our Story
Auto XS® was founded in 2007 by two friends, John Smith and Mike Wilson, who shared a love for cars and technology. As engineers by trade, John and Mike were constantly tinkering with their own vehicles, designing modifications and add-ons to improve the driving experience.
After fitting their cars with custom-built gadgets like onboard beverage coolers and entertainment systems, John and Mike realized there was an opportunity to develop these kinds of products for the mass market. And so Auto XS® was born in a small garage workshop in the suburbs of Birmingham.
Armed with a small startup loan, John and Mike began designing their first products: heated travel mugs and phone holders tailored for in-car use. The first batch sold out almost immediately, proving their hunch that more drivers wanted clever ways to enhance their ride.
Bolstered by the early success, the Auto XS® founders expanded their range to include more electronics like backup cameras, tire pressure monitoring systems, and Bluetooth receivers to play music wirelessly. They also developed handy accessories like seat organizers, sun shades, and cargo trunk covers to maximize convenience and comfort.
As the product line grew, so did the Auto XS® team. More staff were brought on board to handle areas like product development, manufacturing, marketing and customer service. In 2010, Auto XS® opened its first office and warehouse space to keep up with rapidly rising demand.
Over the following decade, the company continued to release innovative new motoring aids while also expanding across Europe. Auto XS® opened offices in Germany, France and Italy, translating its website into local languages. This produced strong sales abroad and cemented Auto XS® as an international brand.
Today, Auto XS® offers over 300 different accessories, from high-tech gadgets to more basic motoring aids and cleaning tools. Under the leadership of CEO John Smith, the company maintains a relentless focus on product quality and customer satisfaction. More than 150 employees now work at Auto XS®’s UK headquarters and European offices to support over a million customers worldwide.

Our Factory
To meet rapidly growing global demand, Auto XS® operates an expansive factory just outside Birmingham, UK. Our 150,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility contains:
